Debra J. Kay, Attorney at Law
Ms. Kay has practiced law in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties (including courts in Simi Valley, Ventura, San Fernando, Van Nuys, Burbank and downtown Los Angeles) since 1987, and has been a Certified Specialist in Family Law since 1993. She was born and raised in New York City, and has a Bachelor of Science (Cum Laude) in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and was a member of the Tau Beta Pi Honor Society. She received a Juris Doctor degree (Cum Laude) from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1986, where she was an Associate Editor of the Law Review, a member of the Phi Delta Phi honor society, named to the Dean's List, and received American Jurisprudence Awards in Evidence and Criminal Procedure.
Ms. Kay has been an Arbitrator for the Ventura County Superior and Municipal Courts. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Ventura County Bar Association, East County Bar Association and Ventura County Family Law Bar Association.
Personally, she is the mother of three children, and has been active in various community activities. She is an amateur genealogist who has published in special interest journals. She has been a Simi Valley resident since 1981.
Ms. Kay has represented clients in all aspects of family law, including divorce, separation, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, and property division.
